This last season skinny jeans were all the rage. You seen them on celebs ( Victoria, Kate, Eva, Lindsey . . .), even the Emo kids loved it. But this Fall, a lot of the fashion mags were saying that skinny jeans are out, and wide leg trousers are in. Then, the contradictions. Now, skinny is good, and wide leg is innovative.
Personally, I hate trends. I'm afraid of being a trend whore. When the bubble hem came out, I was pissed because I actually like the trend, but didn't want to look like a Paris Hilton wanna-be, (which by the way, I have Love for Paris Hilton, but at my age, you don't want to be identified as a trendy "that's hot!" follower with no brain to form her own style. Drama, I know. But I didn't buy into the skinny jean, because i spend a lot of money on my jeans (i wear them until they fall apart, so they have to last), so i didn't want to buy into something that at the time i though was gonna change by the next season.
Then there was my birthday (late March), i had some extra money to buy another pair of $200 jeans. so i try on a pair of Rock & Republics in the skinny jean. and i was in LOVEEEEEEEE!!!!
so now, i'm a bit pissed that the trouser should have a wide leg now. and even though i plan on wearing what i feel like in the first place, I just don't know if i'll buy a pair of wide leg pants.
I'm 5'2" and I have a hard enough time having any of my pants altered (too lazy to do it myself). what would i look like in a wide leg. then, i though, most of America is either short , chubby, akward, or all of the above. so why would one want to put on a pair of wide pants and make themselves look moreso like themselves???But i guess the same question applies for the skinny pant.
What do you think?
What pant do you prefer, and why does it work for you?
